Ringing to ask for vacancies

    Hi everyone,

I have being applying for a new job the last few weeks and a few companies replied that I would have to ask in store about any job openings.

I have no problem doing that for places that are close enough to me it's just I don't drive and I don't have much free time as I have a job currently.

Is it acceptable to ring up places and ask for any job vacancies or is that a bad way to go about it?

    Thanks.
