BREAKING NEWS! @EddieHearn offers @RealCFrampton £1.5 million to fight @scottquigg on July 18th at the @McrArena

Let's hope it happens, after being impressed with Quigg near the start of his career he hasn't really improved a great deal whereas Frampton has improved no end and should have too much for Quigg now imo.

Let's hope it does happen. Not much point in either of them fighting nobodies for the next few years.

Bang on johner few years back I would put Quigg ahead of Frampton. But at the moment Frampton looks ahead of him

If Eddie Hearn is wanting full control of this fight I cant see it happening.

    Carl's reply:

    http://cwmcyclone.com/official-statement-from-cyclone-promotions-and-carl-frampton/

Cyclone Promotions have made several attempts to organise a follow-up meeting with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport to progress these negotiations. Cyclone Promotions and Carl Frampton are therefore surprised by this afternoons public offer from Matchroom Sport to Carl Frampton.

This is gonna take a while, there might even be fights happening before these two get in the ring. Could see McGuigan and Hearn butting heads already.

if this fight doesn't happen it will be because of mcguigan, he wants it on itv and hearn wants it on sky box office. hopefully barry sees sense. its a huge british fight and as much as we dont like forking out 20 euro for it it will sell so it makes sense to have it on box office, i dont like the way hearn has gone about it but frampton has to take this offer.

This is not at all Box Office material, and quit giving them greedy fooks ideas. We had it with Bellew/Cleverly. Another fooking farce!

cleverly bellew wasn't a world title fight, this is between two top 5 ranked guys and for a world title, it would sell out an arena in hours and would sell very well on sky box office, does that make it right? no, i don't agree with it and would only pay for a superfight but apart from brook khan its probably the biggest fight in britain. if this is on sky it will be sky box office unfortunetly

If Hearn wins it the fight will be on Box Office. He confirmed it a few weeks back. His argument is if the fighters want to improve their profile then fight on ITV, if they want to get paid its Sky Box Office. Like it or not its the way it's going more & more.

Wait till Brook vs Gavin is PPV :P

Oh Christ spare the thought. I'd nearly dust off my gloves if that one goes PPV.

The only fight I'm paying for this year is FMM v Pac Man

I see where you are coming from but it's not box office. I don't care what the rankings are, neither man has even fought a real world class opponent.

    I won't fork out 20 + euro for it.

I'd pay just to see Gvaing getting smashed and retired!:p

BTW, it has to be the most ridiculous and out of place nickname ever. Fun time Frankie? About as funny as a kick in the bollix!

doubt if this is going to happen, though if i were frampton id jump at it mcguigan or no mcguigan, its not in carls best interests to have this turned down by cyclone promotions who have done very well from carls fights

Are cyclone tied to ITV or is it this just their preference broadcaster?

Rigo now calling out Quigg. Not holding my breath for that either.

Its quite obvious that there is bad blood between Hearn and McGuigan, there has been for some time even before Carl left matchroom.

Matchroom want this fight made but they need to come out and be honest and say that they do not want McGuigan involved as co-promoter.

In terms of contractual obligations, I would also imagine Carl would be tied to sky (and matchroom) if/when he was to beat Quigg. But of course Eddie Hearn was hoping most folks would not see past the cheque for £1.5 million.

Its not a PPV fight, its a cracking fight none the less but its most certainly not PPV.

Frampton while having fought a higher calibre of opponent than quigg needs to refrain from constantly referring to himself as the real champ, while both are avoiding Rigo.

Barry McGuingan seems to be a impediment to this fight happening, cause lets face it cyclone are a mickey mouse promotional outfit solely reliant upon one fighter, no Framton no cyclone promotions. It seems Barry wants to promote or co promote but he lacks the financial muscle and clout to do so.

Frampton should have just stayed with Eddie and this fight would be happening now, or have happened already.

Frampton has a good opportunity to make mega money with cyclone. If he had stayed with matchroom Hearn would have made the mega money. Matchroom are a large outfit of mostly local town hall boxers, the exception being Froch, Brook, deGale and a few decent prospects.

McGuigan can put all his time and energy into promoting Frampton, look what he has done already reigniting big boxing in Belfast. He also has a few other prospects who have big futures ahead of them. McGuigan is 100% right to knock back Hearn's offer.
