Interpreting Broadband stats

Never had a router with this much information before,

Huawei HG865C router, on Imagine fibre, it's been in a week, and over that week, the download speed appears to have been adapting downwards, and over the week, it went from 70 to 45 Mb/s, but nothing much else seemed to change, I had to reboot the router last night, and it went back up to 70+ again, so clearly there's something going on.

The ping is brilliant, less than 8Ms, which is the best I've ever seen here,

The router stats are in the jpg, as there's no way to cut and paste them, it won't select all the data.

Anyone that knows the in depth that can comment on the good bad or indifferent levels of the stats shown?

stats.jpg?dl=0As the crow flies, probably 200 metres to the cabinet, but as the cable routes in the ground, probably closer to 325 Mtrs. The cable has been in the ground for about 25 years, and hasn't been in use at all until recently for the previous 5 years, we were on WiMax.

    Thanks

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Your downstream snr isn't great. VDSL will tend to train itself to allow a buffer on your downstream snr to enable good stability. If your cabinet hasn't been vectored yet, then you may get a higher stable speed in the future.

You should post your stats when the modem is syncing at the lower stats so we can compare. But likely the modem will trade sync speed for downstream snr.

Thanks, was wondering if it was suspect, I may need to see if I can get the other pairs into the house checked, we've 4 pairs, historic. we had 3 active lines a long time ago, the line we're on at the moment is the oldest of them all.

I will see if I can get any more workable stats, there's a couple of other issues with internal routers that I want to try and sort first. At the moment, I don't need massive download speed, and even 50 is a 5 fold improvement on what was here before.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Imagine don't seem to be implementing vectored profiles. I have a few customers on Imagine fibre with the modem syncing at 70 max. I know for a fact they are all on vectored cabs. They're all close enough to their respective to get more.

With imagine you can request higher than 70 profiles but they don't seem to implement them automatically.
