Assuming your bike is stolen, what methods are recommended for increasing the chances of recovery? Register the serial number with the gards? Can anything else be done?

Anyone know of a bike locker that can be built to order?

Best bet is prevention so as many locks as possible and not rubbish ones either.

Keep photos and serial number online/email.

Make as hard as possible to take in 1st place as not many get the bike back.

Thankfully as I lock my bikes inside my house I can only draw on the experience of trying to buy second hand with my son last year.

If your ride is stolen check Adverts, Donedeal, Gumtree etc..

We viewed so many second hand bikes from (I'll be nice) 'dodgy' feckers.

One bike we viewed (advertized on Adverts) in Smithfield we were actually forewarned by residents down there that the guy only sold robbed bikes.

We reported it to the Bridewell Garda station.

We were actually at the end of our patience with these sites when we got a beauty with a receipt.

tl;dr ~ check the popular adverts site like donedeal, gumtree and adverts

I see Aldi have motorcycle chain type locks at the moment. Very cheap looking at only 12 euro. Has anyone bought one for their bicycle, and more importantly, anyone tested one with a pair of good bolt cutters ?
