Anyone have any tips on cleaning a milk pipeline that has been idle for a while that has dried in scum? I have put 2 rounds of descaler through it and pulled a rag through it a few times but there's still scum in it.

Hot wash with hydrosan (or similar cleaner) and add hypacloride (litre or two).
Start with just hot water, run first two gallons out on the floor as it will be cold returning from the cold lines, adding it back just cools the whole wash.
Then add the chemicals (no point in running them out on the floor).

This is a good cleaner but like all hot washes its hard on rubber in the long run.

On that, you need to check the fall on the lines, there should be no residue left to form a scum as it should all drain out freely to collector jar..
