Does the recent 20% slump in company's share price (SP down from mid € 70's to mid € 50's ) and the company's announcement to buy another competitor, represent a buying opportunity in this 'Irish' bluechip?

Technically it is at an old resistance line, I drew it at 55.47. RSI is in oversold territory on daily chart. 61.8% fib. is around 51.38 on long term trend.

I know nothing about the company.

I like this company. Markets are a bit unsure of the direction they are taking at the moment. They seem to be moving into B2C from a B2B. Nothing wrong with that if they can pull it off. It will take a few quarters to show any progress but I bet it works for them. Their record of intergration since the IAWS days is excellent. They are definitely not overvalued at today's price.

    I'm thinking the same!

Analysts are unhappy (so too some major investors) with some of the company's recent business decisions (divested Origin, sold off some good business performing products/services (considered non core) and switched some focus on new areas which have yet to generate significant sales which have all impacted in lower T/O and market sceptical about company's short term growth/profit prospects. The SP is expected to remain flat after 30%+ drop (mkt reaction) and expected to remain in doldrums for at least 2-3 years.

If you agree, too soon to buy in even at these low levels, further checks cannot be ruled out. Long term like all good blue chips, a return to form and growth is only a matter of time and confidence will rapidly return. Buy ? ;)

I've been sitting this one out for a while now but tempted to jump off the fence? The continued SP falls are really tempting, could hardly fall much lower?

YoY SP -50.0%, mixed sales performance reports, profitable European sales are holding up, but US market continues to be sluggish and Investors are unimpressed with recent developments which is dragging sentiment down. The CEO has his own woes to deal with, but all in all, looks to me to be a very attractive buying opportunity to get on board at a low SP?

I only wish the Yield/Divi were a little better ;)

One of the directors dumped a massive shareholder this month, which is never a good sign. They are not doing great in the US. Plus consumer tastes are changing. There will be no growth/if not decline in bread in the coming years. Consumers just arent eating their products.

More bad news from Aryzta with the share price dropping a further 30%, some fall from grace, now down 60+% in less than 2 years.

They are selling products consumers no longer want. Why would I pay a massive price for scone from Cuisine de France when Lidl sells a superior one for the fraction of the price? Every second person appears to be gluten free at the moment.

They are in a market that less and less people want to buy their products. People either want low cost discount breads in discount supermarkets or expensive high quality artisan bread. I wouldn't call their artisanal line artisanal and neither would most customers. Their business model is in the middle and no one wants to buy it.
