    Hi All,

I was driving home from town on Saturday morning when a truck loaded with sand was travelling the opposite direction. As the truck was driving he was losing some of the sand (there was no cover on the truck) and as he drove past me a pile of the sand went all over the front of my car.

It made a huge bang noise and left a dent of my windscreen and other little chippings on the glass. It also put loads of chip marks all over the bonnet and front bumper. I've attached images of the marks but they can are hard to take a picture of.

As they are chip marks I'm assuming that they won't polish off and that the only way to 'undo' the damage is to spray the bumper and bonnet. I know it's a bit of a how long is a piece of string question, but does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to spray paint the bonnet and bumper? The car is a lancer btw.

If the paint has actually chipped off, there is no proper repair other than painting.
How big or noticeable are the chip marks?
I wouldnt fancy painting large areas of the car tbh.

They're all fairly small but there are loads all over. The bonnet is by far the worse and the ones on the bumper are mainly on the drivers side. There was a few minor ones already on the bonnet but there was never any on the bumper.

Will have to be a respray really.

Any thoughts on hunting down the truck driver? A similar thing happened me before, except the truck was carrying cement blocks and stone. As I seen the cement blocks bouncing and breaking towards me I nearly shat my pants. It happened so fast. I'm just glad you are ok.

In my case I went to a quarry that was 8 miles away, and after an argument got it paid for.
