Extend 4g range

    Hi folks

I've moved from eIrcom to vodafone mobile broadband. The Huawei mifi device Vodafone provided is brutal, wifi range is terrible, and there are no ethernet ports available. I'm happy with the service though so would like to keep it if possible.

From my eIrcom days, I have a Zytel d1000 and the old eIrcom netopia router. What I'm hoping to do is use one of these two routers to connect the Vodafone dongle to (wireless presumably) and use the ethernet ports etc on the router.

I believe this is repeater mode, anyone know if these routers support this and how I'd go about completing it?

    Many thanks

Reasonably sure they don't. And you don't wanna use a repeater.

Get a proper 4G router and just move the sim into that. The mifi device is designed to feed your laptop etc on the go, not be a permanent network installation.

Thanks for that. Any decent 4g routers that won't cost an arm and a leg?

The midband subforum (where this should be) has lots of info on that side of things.
