And we all remember the disaster it was when this offer was around last time, let's hope they have it better organized this time around.

Always wondered about home delivery, whoever picks the stuff do they go for the longest Best Before dates or just pick stuff from the front that has to be used within a day or so?

I often get the home delivery and that was my biggest concern at the start. I think the stuff is picked in the warehouse so the best before dates are way out, so no issue with the dates. I've also bought fruit from them and the Quality is very high. From my experience, I couldn't fault the home delivery and I always use it when I really need to stock up.

Warehouse? ... Its picked in store and the few times i used it before i copped on and started shopping elsewhere... The veg was just about in date each time.

Home delivery service is good, but the only time i would use it now, or even shop in tescos is around Christmas when i cant get certain items in my usual shop and to avoid the crowds and the parking charges of my local shopping centre based tesco.

Good News is that this morning my shopping came 5 minutes into the start of the slot I had reserved. Bad new is that I had loads of products not available. And I get a free Cadbury Easter Egg as a gift. The driver was not aware of the 1€ promotion and did say they were not unusual busy.

As to freshness, in my experience it depends on the picker. Sometimes I get not a single item that I would not pick myself, on other days I get loads of stuff that expires the next day or two. However usually they are marked separately on the receipt so I can give it back to the driver. Sometimes I find short expiry not marked as such, a quick call or email to Tesco results in a refund.

I type "long expiry date please "into the box beside any perishables and have never had a problem

Yep, tried that in the past too with varying results. Most pickers are under pressure in the store anyways as they have other duties, so it comes as no surprise that the request isn't always met.

Some peeps still do their weekly in tesco, i was one of them up till a few years ago, i could honestly take them or leave them now. It was great up till recently that if you needed something you might of forgotten etc. up till ten o clock at night you could pop in to tesco but the other shop i shop in now has matched that opening time.

They send me a tenner off a 70 euro shop voucher (70 i think? Cant remember) every so often, but never partake of it as there is value to be had elsewhere nowadays.

I got Guinness once that had best before the following week. Always find they come at end of 2 hour slot. No matter how many times I click no substitutes, they always land on with them

We had 7up included recently in our delivery, tasted wrong and sure enough it was out of date by a month. These wet 2L bottles.

In fairness, Tescos customer service is great. We got the delivery charge and cost of 7up refunded.

Think it's a minimum of a €60 spend, I uusually get lots of heavy stuff delivered, water, washing powder etc, bulky items like kitchen roll, some of the own brand stuff good, like the fajita Kit, cream crackers at 26c great too!! Lovely cheeses for 3 for €10, ask for stuff With longeat date, and u can return anything with delivery guy, also gst lots of frozen stuff delivered!!

I used to get deliveries and like others was impressed, no issues at all.

My comment to those that were saying on occasion the dates were only just in is that often in the actual store this is how they are on the shelfs, one of the reasons I actually don't buy my veg in tesco anymore. Just saying on these perishables sometimes it makes no difference if you get delivered or go instore the current stock they have just has short dates.

I have used tesco a few times now. waiting on a delivery at the moment. Never get fruit or vegetables off them I get them in my local fruit and veg shop. Handy when they have an offer on certain items. I use it a lot for pet food bottles of water bottles of 7up and frozen goods when its really warm outside.

Gotten two deliveries now including the other night for the 1 euro delivery fee. Everything was ok no substitutions on the second delivery a small one on the first. The second delivery was at the end of the delivery slot, but that was alright.
