    Hi,

I'm looking for a carpenter in Laois Area to make up a parcel shelf/boot shelf for my car.

The car is a Mazda Demio. Normally there is a retractable retractable parcel shelf but there something missing and it wont fit correctly.

Basically just looking for someone with the skills who can make a parcel shelf that would fit snug over the boot. Needs to be solid, fit tight without any movement as the dogs sit up there when there in the car.

Doesn't have to be anything really fancy, just a sheet of wood with a bit of soft padding on top.

Anyone that can help out, post a reply or PM and I'll get back to you.
    Thanks

I have to say this sounds like a rather dangerous thing to do. Firstly dogs (even little ones) on parcel shelves make quite effective projectiles in the event of rapid deceleration which is neither good for them or you should they hit your headrest, even a box of tissues can cause injury in an impact.
Likewise with the parcel shelf itself would be fairly heavy and unless it can be securely fixed and not just resting there could pose a serious risk to occupants. If it's a roller blind type the it not intended as a parcel shelf but as a cover to hide the contents of the boot from prying eyes.
In the interests of safety I recommend you forget the idea and source a replacement boot cover from a scrap yard or dealer.

If you still want to hire someone then it would help posters to know where in Co. Laois you are.
