I bought an open return to Dublin and on the way home it was stamped, can I still use it again for a return journey from dublin?

No. Sure it's stamped for one leg so it's and for besides, you've already used it for a journey.

I meant to say I wasn't* stamped. Sorry, typo!

Im aware of that. I'm also aware of the fact that I'm a broke student who could do with saving a few euro here and there. I was just asking a question, I wasn't looking to get judged

That would be an ecumenical matter.

If it went through a barrier, you cannot use it again.

That would mean it was stamped

Not a visible stamp, I expect the OP is referring to inspector on board the service who stamps it with the date?

If it goes through the barrier machine it's recorded for that journey. The machine wouldn't allow it to be used a second time.

If it was stamped for the return journey but not the outward one it's also expired. Outward travel on an open ticket is valid on day of travel only

Buy a new ticket, try the old one first.. It it works, grand. Keep the new one for another trip.

If not, chuck it in the bin and use the new one. Simples.

Wouldn't work as you must use the first leg on date purchased. Staff or barriers wouldn't accept it, however would accept the return leg provided it's valid.

If the return side wasn't stamped or validated use away!

You want to dishonestly use a train ticket twice knowing that you probably can't do it, you want ask people to justify your doing so but you don't want to be judged by those who are telling you why not.

You know well what the answer is here.
