Have a Passat and the rear left wheel is badly off line. Rear right is fine, just wondering would it be the shocks gone, bushings gone or worse a bent axle. See the photos. Any help appreciated

Most of the vag group need four wheel tracking from time to time. That would be my first port of call..assuming you dont have a broken spring or anything obvious

Shock gone : Back right would be bouncy-bouncy. Push quickly on the back, let go, and it should pop up, down slightly, and then stop. If it bounces like it's on a trampoline, then shock gone.

Bushings gone : There would be a noticeable dull knocking sound on rough roads.

Bent Axel : There would be vibrations coming up through your seat when driving. If it was bent enough to be noticed by simply looking at the wheel, then it would shake your teeth loose at 20mph.

Most likely, adjustment lock-off on the rear wasn't quite as tight as it should have been, and was knocked loose on a rough road or something.

Wheel off there, attached is the strut and the bushing. Maybe replace both?

that passat has a solid rear axle so wheel alignment dosent apply here.

Update, bent axle it was. Back in action again, like driving a new car!
