I am looking at Ford Focus cars at 1.4 or 1.6L. The cars I am looking at are around 2002-2003 with 100-120k Miles. I will be using it mostly for driving around town and the maybe an hours drive away at weekends. The 1.6L will cost about 130 a year extra in tax. Would it cost much more in petrol compared to the 1.4?

    thanks

Much the same if not a bit less those 1.4s are a bit thirsty the 1.6 would be the better option if you plan doing any motorway or long trips.

Get the 1.6 - a lot are UK imports with aircon and nice things.

I'd also go for the 1.6. I had a 1.4 myself a couple of years back and, although I loved the car, I felt it was rediciously underpowered.
