    €219.99

There is €10 argos voucher when you spend €100 or more:
    http://www.argos.ie/static/ArgosPromo3/includeName/giftvoucher1.htm&mvt=HP1_topbanner

There is €50 cashback from lenovo:
    https://lenovo-offers.com/uk/en/eastercashback/

    So €219.99 - €10 - €50 = €159.99

€159.99 for this tab is a very good price in my opinion

Don't know is that was posted but I could not find it so hire it is.

There is also 10.1 Inch one work out as €199.99 after cashback and voucher:
    http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10152&catalogId=14551&langId=111&productId=667068

Cheers, the link to cashbank is for UK and 50 STG which if it worked would be better again. Do you know if it's valid for purchases in Ireland?

    https://lenovo-offers.com/uk/en/pages/eastercashback/qualifying

Nope, it lists the cashback for ROI buyers as well, states its €50 for this tablet, it evens gives the specific Argos product code, which matches the argos link in the OP.

I'm really tempted by this, looks to have decent spec's and personally I think 8" is the sweet spot in tablet size. This model gets good reviews too

Great price I got the yoga 1 when it was on sale in Argos few months back for near same price

You have to make another purchase to use that 10€ voucher, so it's 170€ for the tablet.

    Yeah.
And you have to spend the €50 Lenovo give to you too, so the tablet isn't discounted at all really!

Bigron - what's your opinion on it so far? Is the cylinder part of it a bit annoying? Specs look good for the price...

How so? Is this not BACS cashback that goes directly back into your account?

I have one too. I like the cylinder. It's a good grip if you are holding it. If also has a stand built in.

In relation to the HDMI out, it works perfectly with the Chromecast.

How does the €50 cashback work?

When I go to buy or reserve it costs €259.

Reliability? A cable can brake, casting can't

    You can buy it here.

    http://shop.lenovo.com/ie/en/tablets/lenovo/yoga/yoga-tablet-2-10/

There's a link on the right of that page for the €50 off.

It comes up as sterling when you click on it but I'm sure the same T&Cs apply.

It's cashback, rather than money off at the point of pirchase.

Chromecast is dependent on your network, and chromecast (which I have) struggles with high def videos. HDMI cable is still the way to go imo

I picked this up Saturday in Cork. Haven't got a chance to play around with it too much but first impressions are very good. Its feels very solid in the hand, the screen is very crisp(Clearly the IPS screen is well ahead of TFT screens many of the competitors have) and it runs pretty smoothly.

As the reviews say, its not quite at Nexus levels of smoothness but there's no doubting the speed of the thing. I'd be very confident of it staying pretty quick too with the quad core chip and 2Gb of RAM.

Also picked one of these up (the 8" version).
Very happy so far, the screen is the best I've ever had (much sharper than the nexus 7), also the front facing speakers are very good.
The stand is great and makes it easy to hold as well.
One thing that was driving me mad was the screen kept changing to a yellowish tint, but then I discovered that it was an auto setting (changing from either vibrant or normal to matt).
Once I disabled this it's fine (not sure why you'd want to use the matt setting, maybe to save battery).

So your gonna hang your tablet out of the side of your tv to watch a movie and get up to change it? Come on Don't be silly now. We all know what everyone uses a tablet and chromecast for and the quality is perfect.

The matt setting predicts when you might be reading and makes the screen yellow so its easier on your eyes. Yellow tones are meant to be less harsh than blue.

Sorry if I am been a dope, but the Argo's link for the 10 inch has gone up to 324 Euro. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks ! :)

Ah, I thought you meant the lenovo cashback. Yep it seems to be gone up in price at Argos, also at pcworld and Amazon who had it at a similar price last time I checked.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 656 ✭✭✭EITS

I had it reserved at the earlier price and was told it had to be delivered in-store. Will they try and charge me the newer higher price when I go in or will showing them the reservation at the lower price suffice?

The cashback is already included there for 229.99, cheapest place to get it now though. It seems Lenovo alternates the price of the Yoga 2 at retailers every 20 days or so.. so it should go back down in price again before the cashback offer ends.

the "ecoupon" which is listed on that site is different to the cash back offer (as far as I can tell). So price after cash back is €180

Good Catch, I am nearly there with this one, I am thinking of buying the one for 319, i.e 32 GB HDD, so its 259 with e-coupon but I need to find the part number to get the 50 Euro cash back.
Its a long winded way of getting a discount.
Folks what ya think - I want a tablet, will i pull the trigger on this ?? Help lol !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭d31b0y

I wouldn't be too worried about the internal size. It comes with a micro SD card slot. You are paying an extra 30 quid for 16gb of extra storage. Buy a 64 gb micro sd card for that.
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/64gb-kingston-microsdxc-class-10-memory-card-only-without-sd-adaptor
€2 per Gb is extortion imo.

They won't do that, 100% certain. The cashback is for retailers not through their official site, they just have that ecoupon built in so you don't have to do the claim.

jaysus, you are right. They should make that a lot clearer...
    7. Purchases bought directly from Lenovo distributors, from auction websites (e.g. eBay) or marketplace sales through retail websites (e.g. Amazon Marketplace or PlayTrade) are specifically excluded from this promotion.

You should never get excited over Argos pricing, If its cheap then they generally dont have stock

Picked up the 10" from castlebar today at the earlier reduced price, no hassle from customer service over the new higher price. Thanks OP :)

Had it reserved yesterday morning, got confirmation it was to be delivered today. Walked in and out at 11, there was very little stock of the 8" from what I could see before, so went and reserved the 10" at the time
