Record of vaccines recieved.

Does anyone know where I could get a record of vaccines received as a child(in the 80s). My mother has lost mine and the GP practice where I received them has long since closed.

The reason I'm asking is I've been offered a position on a panel for a job in the HSE and I've been asked to provide proof of vaccines received.

I had to get a record of my immunisations for college last year. Messaged the hse and they sent one out quickly. I was born in the 1990s so not sure when the hse started doing them or how far their records go back but worth a try.

I had most of mine done in the 70's and afaik no proper record available. The HSE do hold them but I think the records are patchy at best up to the mid to late 80's.

Can you imagine the Gombeens in the HSE trying to set up Online Access to your Records, it'd probably cost 2 Billion, take 10 years (with 2 different 10 year plans in that 10 years) and at the end you'd Log on to some site and by changing a few digits in the URL you'd get someone else's records.

In theory online records of medical history is a good idea for research.
Doctors and researchers would have access to such a large date base and would be able to tell much more about disease and which treatments are the most effective.

Only thing is the type of internet security needed isn't at the right stage yet and I'm sure it would be a disaster in regards to data protection.
