Death Benefit Scheme & Rental Income

    My widowed mother is receiving a pension under the 'Death Benefit Scheme' and is considering letting out a room in her home under the rent a room scheme. My question is, will rental income affect her pension or count as means? Thanks in advance for any help with this!

    If its a benefit scheme then its not means tested. If its a means tested payment that she is in receipt of then she would have to declare it.
