Hard to imagine in a way since the guy has been around so long, great cricketer for New Zealand, without him they would have been a much poorer team the last years

Also Kyle Mills retired too, 2nd highest ODI wicket taker for NZ after Vettori

Liked Vettori as a player, kept plodding away with New Zealand even when they were at their worst. Im sure he'll be a big miss for them.

Not to be underestimated with the bat either. Didn't get the fairytale sendoff but what a great all-round cricketer he was for New Zealand.

Probably one of my favourite players ever.

Was a fantastic number for the test side who at times were abysmal, so often without him they would have been a Bangladesh style laughing stock.

ODI'S, pretty canny as well, was captain of a pretty average side who got to the world cup semi final in 2011. Went out on a high though this world cup, was crucial in beating Australia where he slowed down their surge hugely, the one handed catch against West Indies and of course the four against South Africa to help them get to the final.Apart from Tahir probably thee best spinner in the competition.

Its a bit of a shame for him, that he hardly played in such a quality NZ that we see now though. :(
