Binding of Isaac Rebirth Confirmed for N3DS

This seems to have gone under the radar with all the nintendo direct hype that was last night, but Binding of Isaac Rebirth has been confirmed to be coming out on the N3DS, along with possibly the Wii-U and the Xbox One. The reason I say possibly is because they "announced" it via an April Fools joke, poking fun at previous nintendo policies regarding nuditiy and the religious content within the game.

However, a few hours later one of the developers sent out a bunch of vines on twitter showing the game running on the N3DS. He's also confirmed that it will be N3DS exclusive as the old 3DS isn't powerful enough to run it at a point that they'd be happy with selling it.

As someone who has spent countless hours playing this on my Vita, then another 80 hours on Steam so far, I can't wait to play it all over again on my 3DS. What about my fellow boardies, whats your opinion on this game and are you excited its finally confirmed for 3DS.

    Tweets which show vines:

What a day to announce it, I'm still not sure it's true.

will probably get it when if it comes out. Might even do cross-buy.

Yeh a lot of people are sketchy on whether to believe it or not, but they've teased it since the PC/PS4/Vita version was in development with pictures of it running in the background or private videos in blog posts so I'm inclined to believe its finally happening.

What am I missing with this game? I played it for about 10 minutes when it was free on ps+ and thought it was useless does it get better?

Would say it takes longer than 10 minutes to get into it a-proper, but I have read the difficulty curve and how much it leaves up to experimentation can alienate some players.

My laptop won't run Rebirth, but the original Isaac is hands-down one of my favourite games ever.

I agree with Mr.Saturn in that this is a game you won't "get" within the first 10 or 15 minutes. It definetly requires a lot of tries and experiments to get used to the synergies etc of all the items but once you start to get into the way the game plays with regards to devil deals, synergies etc its can provide endless amounts of fun if you're into it.

The best advice I can give is to check out some of the better youtubers or twitch streamers to see what the game can be like at a later stage as it will give you not only an idea of the various meta-gameplay mechanics but you'll also get to see some cool synergies along the way.

With regards the difficulty curve in Rebirth, I honestly found it much easier than the original's difficulty curve. it introduces it much better than the original although you can still get messed over with bad RNG.

I'll try some specific videos later, but I'd say check out Northerlion and Bisnap on Youtube, and definetly check out CobaltStreak on Twitch. They're my go-to guys for isaac related content and they're pretty great.

I'm trying to understand why, having it for free on both PS4 and PS Vita, do I need this on the 3DS?

PC, PS4 and Vita here. I'm buying it again because (A) I think it will look great if the images they've sent out via QR codes are any indication and (B) to support the creator and developers mainly. The game has provided me with more fun for 15 euro (although I only paid 10 on steam cos I owned the original) than most 60 euro AAA games so they can have my money as far as I'm concerned as they deserve it.

A guy at work keeps going on about how good this game is. 140 hours he's put into it. So I think I'll finally give it a go.

They've eased off alot as of late, especially looking at the likes of bayonetta 2 coming to the wii-u. This is actually a really great article on how Isaac came to finally being on Nintendo consoles

Finally got my grubby mitts on Isaac: Rebirth. Definitely how a remake should be done. Had minor gripes about the soundtrack change, but the new one is amply atmospheric. Azazel is like an easy-mode, which is handy for unlocking items and whatnot quickly to make events more fun for the rest of the roster. Will definitely re-purchase once it makes its way to Wii-U.

McMillen and Nicalis, Inc have floated a preview of the Wii-U version.

T'is looking more than a little bit sexy. Between this and Metroid: Zero Mission finally getting a PAL VC release, my Wii-U'll probably be exhausted over the Summer. Well, mostly from Rebirth, Zero Mission is, I believe, only a couple hours long.

It's my friends birthday tomorrow so I made him this

Guess what his favourite game is?!

(The thing on his arm is an iWatch. My friend got his last week and keeps going on about it)

Been thinking about getting a 3ds for a while now, after putting over 100 hours into Rebirth on ps4 I'll definitely be getting this

I've made it a mission of mine to get real plat God before afterbirth. Am 91% through all achis on steam but the hardest part is yet to come. Will I do it again on 3ds? You're God damn right.

They should give a release date or just release it so I can play it.

There was a quote somewhere saying they're hoping for before e3 which is mid June. Knowing Nintendo they like to do their Nintendo direct shows just before e3 instead of doing a conference at the show so id imagine that's when we will get confirmation of the release date
