Contract dilemma

I've signed a contract to start in June with one company in the financial services sector, I committed to this about two weeks ago. In the interim I've been offered a much better job in an area I'd much prefer with a different company, also in the ifsc. What am I able to do? what are the implications of not working with the company I've already signed for? Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you confirm that you have the job in the better company, you should contact the previous company ASAP so they can find someone else

I did this a number of years ago, and agonised quite a lot of over it. Make sure to sign/seal/deliver the new company's job in full before saying anything to the first one.

It's a common enough thing. Just take the second job, and once it's confirmed let the first company know soon as possible as a courtesy. Do not feel tied into the first company, it's your career and you need to do what's best for yourself.
