While feeding this morning noticed ewe with her water bag out ,checked on her a couple of hours later and nothing happened.
No sign of her trying to lamb, examined her and no lambs showing.
Might there b a problem with her
    Expecting twins

    Time to start pulling.

She's probably 'ringed' ie not properly broken down. by ringed I mean that if you put in your hand and feel around you'll only be able to get one or two fingers through the 'ring' to the lamb.
Sometimes you can get it to open using your fingers.....if you're not experienced, the vet might be best bet

Could she have lambed already and her lambs stolen? Happened to me.

I'd be thinking the same as rangler. Time to inspect and get vet if necessary

I've never regretted erring on the side caution and whipping lambs out, but have unfortunately lost plenty from doing nothing and giving ewe another 1/2 hour trying to get them out themselves. You just don't know many 1/2 hours the ewe has had before you spotted something was amiss

Was chatting to the vet about using Oxytocin (either with a view to help a ewe to open or to promote the let down of milk)....he felt that its cruel enough to the sheep in question as basically Oxytocin forces the ewe to increase the strength of her contractions...which is not going to do anything helpful if she has not opened her 'ring'.....it does quicken up the production of milk but the ewes is pressurising herself a lot internally while doing it....which makes me think that there's more cons than pros to it......what do others feel?
