Laptop still dim on full brightness

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio SVF1421c5E with Windows 8.1. The screen is very dim on full brightness and actually gets dimmer when brightness is 100%. This makes the laptop practically useless during the daytime. I have tried to adjust this and have switched off the auto dim feature but nothing works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Try changing the contrast levels

Sounds like your screen is goosed. Screen issues are common on Viao mostly completely failing not dimming.
