    Has anyone used the Ayrshire bull JBQ JELYCA OBLIQUE . I want easy calving for maiden heifers . I used OCP last year calves just spit out want to know if JBQ is the same.

    well I guess none of ye milk Ayrshire cows but if ye know anyone that does can you ask them

    According to ICBF he has a calving difficulty of 1.97% at 84% reliability. Well suitable for heifers I'd say.
    OCP is 1.6 at 99% so not much difference in calving difficulty.

    Closest I've had were Swedish red which have origins from Ayrshire
    I think you shouldn't have much calving problems with any dairy breeds compared to beef bulls like bb or ch
    The Ayrshire seem a light boned and smaller breed than Friesian anyway so should be fine on heifer's

    I put heifers incalf to easy calving friesian without problems and some of them wouldn't be the biggest.
