What is your opinion? Its generally good form to provide your own opinion before asking for others.

As for my opinion it looks fantastic. I didnt even know they had submarine races. The pilots need to maintain a certain number of flying hours each week so they might as well do it doing something that looks cool.

    Check your calendar.

I hope the planes didn't get too close to the subs

D'OH. I withdraw my previous post on this thread. though submarine races would be cool. Especially if they restricted it to diesels.

Well done the Air Corps! I would slag people for being so gullible, but I was fully taken in this morning by the Morning Ireland report of the Govt proposal to dismantle the Dublin Spire for two weeks in Easter 2016 to make the streetscape more 'authentic'! :o

Perhaps it's also a clever way for the AC/DF to point out to the powers-that-be the fact that we dont have any way of detecting submarines in our waters (as well as Russian 'Bears' in our skies) /! ;):D

True story; bringing a ship into Den Helder once (Netherlands and big naval port), the Harbour Radio called me up on VHF and requested that I keep clear of the submerged submarine on training exercise in the buoyed approach channel. After a long silence, I just responded - OK?
