Heading to Cork with the missus for a few days, staying in Fota so might sneak out for a few holes if I can get herself into the spa for a few hours.

Looking to know which are the best golf shops in and around the city centre?

    Thanks boardsies..

American Golf in Wilton and Halpenny near Woodies off Kinsale Road Roundabout would be main two I know of.

    Halpenny:

    American:

More of a fan of Halpenny myself. Find them friendly and willing to do a deal. Have a Flightscope in the back if you need to hit something

The only ones I've come across down there are halpennys on kinsale road and American golf over in wilton. There is obviously more around but they are the only 2 I've used down there

In city centre, your best bet would be Mahers Golf Emporium on Penrose Wharf. Wouldn't have the selection of Halpenny's or American Golf, but it's in the city.

Id avoid American golf, very aggressive sales staff and in my experience a bit arrogant for some reason, Halpenny is a nice store, and Mahers is also, other option is Nevada bobs in Ballincollig or Coleman Golf in Lee valley gc, both independently owned and have good deals at times.

Are all Nevada Bobs not gone bar 1 or something?

Afaik the closures were limited to the Elvery in-store outlets, with the one in Elverys Castlebar the only one that remained.

Just to give the OP another opinion.
I have never found this to be the case out there. In my experience, the staff were always very helpful and extremely easy to deal with. I have no affiliation to the store either.

Same, have bought alot of stuff there, they have been sound to me and given good deals. Will match prices too. Find the shop has good selection of clothing too with good 3 for 2 deals.

Prefer AG to others mentioned on thread.
I do think they have toned down on the aggressive sale, methinks they read this place from time to time.

Been to all 4 mentioned and can't complain about service in any.

I always felt the staff in Maher's years ago was bit up its arse if honest but last few years I found them good to deal with.

Halpenny would be my favourite if had pick but other 3 are fine.
