Quick question guys, We have to leave Ireland next week and we are looking to sell our car, Volvo S40, 1.8 209000 on clock with NCT due on April end.

Car is running good for it's age, Is something like 500 euro a good price for it or we should just try and scrap metal it :)

    Thanks

If it's taxed and has a valid NCT it's still worth something.

It's taxed until end of April

If you put it on DoneDeals and Adverts for €900 you should get some interest - once up you could post a link in the bangernomics thread on boards. I was in same position selling my 02 Saab 9-3 last year, wondering about scrappage and sold within a couple of days for €850 but since then have seen plenty of them asking closer to €2k on DoneDeals and thinking I should have asked for more.

I think you should have no bother shifting it for €500 if time is tight.

With very little test and high mileage, not to mention a time limit to get it sold, 300 or 400, maybe 5, sounds about right.

Give it a clean give it a waxing, new air freshener and stick it up for €600 ono. As you need it gone next week set a minimum in your head that you will take, I would say €500 if someone comes to look at it in 2 days, if nobody looks at if for 4 days go to €400. Time is not on your side so what "it's worth" if you have a month to sell it and what you will get when you have a number of days to sell it are two different things. If it doesn't have leather I would say take €300 for it.

Here's a nice example of how to sell a car if you need help..
