Ford focus blower

I bought a 09 diesel focus, it had been in a crash. When I accelerate it sounds like something is blowing(or being sacked) back into the car thru the vents. Any ideas as to what this might be? Could a turbo pipe be connected to the wrong place or is it a more serious problem

Sounds like it's leaking boost. It may or may not be related to the crash. Either way it should be easy enough to diagnose.

    Is it 1.6 or 1.8?

Did it get hit in the front? If so then the prime suspect would be the intercooler. The pipe that runs from the intecooler to the intake also splits regularly on them.

    +1.

check to see if all the large 2-3" pipes are all connected, mainly the ones that go to/from the inter-cooler (a radiator just to cool air) to the engine
