Looking to invest in index funds

    Hi,

I'm in my mid twenties and have saved up 20 grand. I was looking to invest some of this into an index fund(I'd start small as I'm new to investing). My reasoning is that if I start investing in low risk options with modest growth potential now I can take advantage of compound interest accumulating in the future.

I've tried researching it but have had trouble finding enough information on this, specifically for options available in Ireland.

The only result I found was for Rabobank who it looks offer index funds. My concern is that there may be a better route(Vanguard in the US seems to be the best/most popular but I don't know if its offered in Ireland?)

Would anyone have experience with dealing with index funds, and could give advice on the best direction for getting started on them?
