Electronics experts for repairing vintage musical equipment - or possibly DIY job?

Just wondering if anyone here knows of any electronics experts for repairing vintage musical equipment (preferably in Dublin) or if this is potentially a DIY job?

I have a non-functioning one of these:



It's actually not completely broken, in that the tape heads go round and you can get some (very, very faint) type of sound from it but, practically, it doesn't function. They're an amazing piece of musical equipment and I'd love to get it back working.

Usefully (I think), I also have the schematics. Is this something I could tackle myself (having no knowledge whatsoever of electronics) without breaking the delay completely? Or am I better bringing it somewhere? If so, where?

Any advice appreciated.

Faint sound might be just from a cold solder joint or bad connection somewhere... If you are confident with a soldering iron, I would have a quick scan over the board and see if you can locate any bad joints and resolder them...

If it's not something easy like that then you will need to bring it to somebody..

Magnetised tape head would be my guess or simply a worn tape loop.

Given it's age there's also a good chance that all those switches are probably suffering corrosion on the contacts.
