NCT retest. Advice?

I'm not sure if I am in the right area but here it goes.

My NCT retest is today and I am dreading it. Its cost €350 just to fix what was wrong, But I did get everything that they said to do done.

The test centre I am going to however are renowned for failing cars 3,4 and even 5 times! Now I am in no position to pay that money each time.

Are there any experts out there who can advice me? Are they only allowed to check what was previously failed? Can they find more stuff wrong and fail me on it? My actual test was only a wk and a half ago. I have done no major driving, just from home to school and shopping.

Couldn't sleep last night with thoughts of it!

You are only tested on what was failed the first time, I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Don't sweat it. A retest just tests what failed the last time.

should have booked in a different test centre then, you don't have to use the same centre as your original test

More like 'rumoured' than 'renowned'. Imo, if a car keeps failing a retest it's because either the repair wasn't up to scratch or just wasn't done.

Anyway as already said, the retest only checks the items that failed the test, but they can fail any dangerous defect even if it previously passed.
