I didn't want to clog up the random photo thread so hopefully this is ok here.

I really like this shot, the lines from the car lights are fantastic. I do find the street lamps to be somewhat distracting and probably shouldn't be the focus of the image. I guess the only way to "fix" this is in post? I don't know how else you would bring down the exposure of the street lights. The reflection of the lights on the water is also really nice. Great shot, well done.

That light to the top right is problematic. It originally did extend out much further but I reduced that but reducing it further was going to be tedious. Cropping would have lost the reflections on the water, which I really like. The little Olympus XZ-1 does a good job, used the lens cap as a support.

I loved this shot too when I saw it but the only thing for me was I'd love to straighten that leaning building on the left and the lamp post ever so slightly on the right. I know wide angle lenses cause distortion but I have a thing for verticals and would love to fix those up :)

If you don't straighten that cracking pic by 2 degrees or you're a flaming drongo!

I only learned what that phrase meant earlier today so I thought it apt:-)!

Did you do any PS on this at all ?

I lived at that bend on the river for a year back in 2010, and Any shots I took always had really warm light, where you've managed to get a very cool "fluro" feel from the wall and headlights, but still keep that warm yellow light on the cycleway, is that just the way the light was on the day ?
(that said, I did took most of my photos right on dusk/sunset)

Either way, I like the contrast of clinical blue/white and the warm sodium yellow either side. I think the white streetlamps work well, but only because of the halo and haze around them, if you tried to reduce that, it would probably take away from the shot.

    Very nice shot.

All my images go through Photoshop as that is my workflow. It was recorded RAW and adjusted the White Balance in conversion. I think I used Tungsten, which made the road look right. The walkway had sodium lights, so it is that yellow colour.

On some shots from that night I have changed the perspective to get the verticals to line up, but left this one alone. Easy to do but I am not too worried by it being a bit wonky :)

I'll see your Flamin' Drongo and raised you a Pissed Galah!

That is a lot nicer. I go bananas for my verticals sometimes. I'd fade out that flare on the RHS a little more gradually though. It's very obviously clipped.
