Realigning Clutch

    Hi All

The clutch in my 2003 Passat is slipping. I was thinking it might need to be replaced but believe it can be realigned instead.

Does anyone know what the possible cost involved would be ?

Would I be better off replacing the clutch entirely.

    Thanks in advance

You'd be better off redoing the whole clutch, while the gearbox is out wouldn't hurt to replace the rear crank oil seal too

I'd say you mean "relined"? As in you replace the wearing surface on the clutch disc with new material.

Just replace the disc, pressure plate and release bearing with a new one, would be my advice.

+1 here on everything, you cant realign a clutch, most likely relined.
clutch kits arent stupidly expensive and are worth doing when the gearbox is off

Without a shadow of a doubt, slap a factory kit in there while the transmission is out.
