I'm getting married pretty soon and have always loved the song "Kissing you" by Des'ree. We're getting married in Dublin City Hall so we can have whatever music we want. I think its a bit too long so will probably cut it down to just over 2mins.

What do you think of this song for walking down the aisle to? Is it too soppy and cliche? We're having a singer and pianist, so if you can think of an alternative that would be great.

Love it. I plan on having the instrumental for when we are lighting the candles and the vocal for signing of the register. We are having a church ceremony so won't get away with it as entrance song.

I also love Damien Rice's the blowers daughter.

anyone who thinks of a song being soppy and cliched will think any other song is the same. so that one is fine. box it off the list as another thing done not to worry about.

I think I saw that song used in Don't Tell The Bride (or possibly 4 Weddings, some sort of wedding programme anyway) and it worked very well. Not a dry eye in the house ;) Your singer & pianist will know the best way to cut it down to about 2 mins or so; they'll probably be able to advise you on what the best length is.
