medical card and the dentist

    hi, sorry if this is not in the right place, just wondering does the medical card cover a check up and a clean in the dentist? and also does most dentist accept the medical card? Im living in the offaly area, any information would be great

    Check up once a year, no cleaning. Contact your local HSE dental centre for list of local clinics who accept med cards. You must tell the dentist in advance if you wish to be seen on med card so that they can check that it is still valid and inform you of costs of any treatment which you may wish to have that is not covered by your card like a cleaning.
