    Can anybody recommend anybody that can fix a Zanussi fan oven?
    Hopefully somebody that would do a free quote.

    So you expect someone to come out, give you a quote for fixing it and if its too much you expect him/her to just walk away with no contribution to time, travel expense and expertise.

    Some tradesmen are willing to drop by (for free) if they're passing that way, but generally there would be a call out charge. I know that during the depths of the recession some were willing to do free call outs in the hope of getting a job that they otherwise wouldn't get.

    An estimate over the phone should be free though.
