Car battery

I bought a brand new battery a month before I stopped driving the car.

The car has been off road for 14 months. I had the battery disconnected and a solar pannel trickle charger attached to it giving a very weak charge

I tried to start it today and a couple of lights initially went on the dashboard but then went totally dead, car didnt turn.

Is it best just to purchase a new battery?

If I got a jump start today I could drive it this afternoon but I wont be able to drive it until next saturday.NCT is week today, dont think I would get enough charge into the battery?

    thanks

It's possible the battery is gone beyond repair and may need to be replaced. Ideally if you had a battery charger and left it on overnight you could see if there's life left in it. Getting a jump start and then driving would probably need a good hours worth of driving to get the battery to a level where it should start the next day, provided ofcourse the battery has life left in it.

Strange thing happened. Tried it today and started up first time

was able to turn engine off and start up and drive around all afternoon

Not sure how it didnt start the first time

Oil seems fine, water, coolant, tyres are still firm and brakes were not stuck

    driving fine, nct next week

    Corroded battery connections possibly.
