Social Welfare question.

I have a friend who works casually in a gym and doesn't have a contract.

She usually gets about 30 hours a week and doesn't claim social welfare.

She's now been told that she won't have any hours for the next two weeks. She has no holiday pay for the two weeks either.

Is there any social welfare payment that she would be entitled to seeing as she won't be earning any money for the next two weeks?

I think JSA might take a while longer than two weeks to come through? Ask Welfare though.

I know some benefits are based on having paid in as well, so if your friend is working on the QT and not paying tax (I'm assuming this because you say casually and because there's no contract, and because she isn't entitled to statutory holiday pay), then I'd be interested to see what they have to say.
