Hi, we just had a new side gate fitted and now need to protect it. I've been looking at Ronseal and Cuprinol products but am none the wiser about what to use on it. Any recommendations?

use a breathable product such as Sadolins or some other good brand.
Do not use any varnish type material that will retain moisture behind it

Thanks, do you have a specific product name within that range you would recommend? I'm a bit lost between woodstains and wood paint?

Exterior or Marine grade Sikkens, Cuprinol, Ronseal or Sadolin and follow the directions.

Use Sikkens Cetol HLS as a base and follow up with Cetol Filter 7 or Cetol BL 31.

    Good luck
