Hello. Has anyone been to Kusadasi in Turkey? Is it safe to go there? Any reviews or tips about safety etc would be great. :)

    Thank you.

Hi, I have been going to Kusadasi every year since we bought a house there many years ago. It is a wonderful place to go, probably not like your average Mediterranean holiday resort because its more Asian than European so its a different culture. In saying that it is a very modern resort, very up to date and can be very cheap.
Have you booked anything yet , if so let me know where and I can give you more relevant info.

A lot of Irish stay there like most places it is up hill but close enough to the centrum to walk ( well going out anyway ) personally I would get a taxi home which are quite cheep and I am sure there is a taxi rank outside the hotel as with most of the hotels.

Went there last summer with my wife, we enjoyed it. Great water park a short bus trip out, cheap food, cheap drink. Only bad thing is being hassled by the shop merchants when you are walking down the street

Just smile, say "No, Thank You" and keep walking! They'll quickly move on to someone else if they know you're not interested. ;)

I went to kusadasi last month with my boyfriend. Stayed in the sea pearl hotel a sister hotel of the golden day wings. The weather was lovely hitting the mid late 20s for the week with a breeze which made it very comfortable to sit out in. We stuck mainly to the strip of restaurants along ladies beach as we found it a bit irritating going into the centrum as everyone would call you and try to get you into shops and restaurants. All the workers in the restaurants along ladies beach were very friendly and didn't hassle you as much. Overall we really enjoyed it.

I'm actually considering going to marmaris in June if anyone has any useful info on it? Negatives or positives, prices etc

17 years since I was there and in common with almost everyone I know who has been there its the only place I would never return to.

Can't walk down the street or look at menus without hostile heckling. Almost got attacked one morning for daring to answer back. I love good humoured heckling with merchants when abroad but this place borders on dangerous.

Always feel like you're being ripped off, the "genuine" Levis shop, the "leather" shops etc - all fakes but with decent margins for the merchants.

Plus points are the Turkish baths - brilliant and Ephesus - well worth a trip.

I'm looking to book up in early October, what's the weather like then?
The Hotel is the Fantasia De Luxe - has a fairly decent rating on trip advisor, do you know much about it? Thanks.

Hi all, heading to Kusadasi in August. I'm wondering what the cost of living is like over there? How much would a dinner be or a pint of beer be etc? I'm taking Turkish lire with me even though I've heard euros are accepted over there too! Any tips would be appreciated.
