    Hi all

Thinking on buying a Mondeo or Avensis (2nd hand)

I'm looking at diesel cars and am confused by the engine power / size

Some 2.0 engine produce 100PS others produce 115PS
Similarly some 2.2 produce 125PS others produce 150PS

If I am going to look at a car how can I guarantee that the power is what it's advertised as?

Will it be on VRC doc etc?

    Cheers
    G.

Usually doing a free cartell/motorcheck report would tell you.

With Toyotas it's straightforward, as they don't tend to do different bhp versions of the same engine.

It will be on the logbook, maybe in kWh not bhp

I wouldn't count on that. They write whatever they like on those really. My car for example is an Alpa Romeo in the book not an Alfa. If they can't get that right I wouldn't trust them to get the finer details right!!
