Freelander 2 Automatic, opinions?

Currently have a Ssangyong Kyron (yes, yes I know!) and I'm thinking of changing to a Freelander 2 (2007 model)

Just wondering what the general consensus of these is?

I had an 02 Freelander a few years back, and though the feedback on here at the time was pretty dire, I actually found it really good and never had any issues with it.

The Freelander 2 I'm looking at is an automatic. Never had an auto before.

What is the automatic like on these? Are they a lot more expensive to repair / replace if and when they start to give trouble, and are they a lot harder on juice than the manual versions?

Would love to hear some feedback, advice, opinions before I make my mind up on this as I'm viewing one tomorrow.

    Thanks guys :)

Probably a bit late now but the F2 was probably Land Rovers most reliable vehicle to date. Auto will be a bit harder on juice than a manual but it's relative, we talking about a 4x4 here.

As to servicing, parts etc, there's plenty of independents with the appropriate test kit and tools, no need to go near a dealer and there's numerous forums for advice.
