There are quite a few Pharma/Biotech companies in Dublin such as

    • Bimeda
    • Astellas
    • Pfizer
    • Takeda
    • BMS
    • Mylan

Pfizer aside I'm not that familiar with the others, can someone tell me what are the better ones to work for in Dublin, specifically Bimeda and Astellas?I am already in full-time employment down south but considering a move to Dublin but I want to move to a good place to work

Would you be looking to work in an office, a lab or a plant?

Off the top of my head (I've no doubt missed some):

    Aspen
    Merck
    Roche
    Novartis
    Sanofi
    J&J / Janssen
    GSK
    Bayer
    Lundbeck
    Jazz
    AbbVie

Good few of those around Sandyford and Citywest areas. However a lot of these will be small commercial or shared services places. I suspect you are looking for manufacturing going by the companies you listed and I don't have first or second hand knowledge of the two you're interested in unfortunately.

Edit: Quick check of some LinkedIn connections reminded me of:

    Amgen
    Alexion
    Merck Serono
    Forest

    Edit #2:

    CRO's:

    ICON
    Quintiles
    ICORG

And maybe others, more familiar with the pharma side of things.

Alexion is a very good company to work for. Nice conditions and treat their staff very well from what I have heard.

They are in a big recruitment drive at the moment I think?

Icon Clinical might be work an investigation too

ICON is a CRO though not pharma though obviously there are cross over of roles given the business the two industries do with each other.

Is it true though that Alexion only have a manufacturing site in westmeath with only a business office in dublin

Mylan, Amgen, BMS, Takeda and Forest definitely have manufacturing/labs in Dublin.

Of the CRO's, ICON is the only one with labs in Dublin to my knowledge.

Most of the companies forming the 'big ten' with locations in Dublin are only offices.

MSD (Merck) have a plant in Swords. Closing down in 2017 I think.
Amgen and Mylan are the only other ones I know.

yes that is correct, apologies I didn't realise you were looking for a lab job!

i know it's not what you are looking for but would you try Intel? Might be worth a shot?
