I am looking for 09 plus that's the best value and reliability for an estate. I am looking at the VW Golf estate which seems to be the best to me but I would like all your opinions please. my budget is around 10k. I would go with an older model if I know it would be a good purchase and hold its value/reliabale.

I'm in an itchy mood at the moment to change...if I do I'll let you know, I have a 09 Subaru Legacy estate 130,000km, one owner full history.
If I dont sell I cant highly recommend them though they are rare as hens teeth

It is a little dear but if you arent looking for a diesel it could be an option.
A diesel can have trouble with DMF, DPF, EPG valve, injectors .
The other thing to go wrong would be the electric handbrake.

You do mention a 09 plus 1.9 diesel golf. Just make sure the engine code is not bxe. Known for putting conrod through the block
