I have an old outstanding bill from Bord Gais for about 50 or 60 euro.

BCW came after me for it. They upset me and I did not reply or answer them.
It was 150 and when they came after me and I paid Bord Gais 100 directly after the first call.

I know I should have paid the whole small amount and I made a mistake by not paying. More laziness than anything.

This was about 1 year ago.

I am applying for finance on a new car tomorrow . A homeowner with a perfect credit history apart from the small unpaid bill.

It has me panicking a little. Will this silly bill ruin my day?

No. Unless a company is a member of ICB, they cant affect your credit rating. Any of these 'solicitor letters', are just a mass mailing to scare people into paying a bill. Its not worthwhile taking someone to court for a €150 debt. You should be fine tomorrow
