    Hi

This is in regard to a 2011 Kia Sportage with the *LX* spec, which from what I gather is the lowest spec .......but still has decent kit.

Does anybody know if the LX spec has this "Eco Dynamics" thing that the EX and higher spec seems to have ?

    Also, what are people's opinions on the 16's on the LX : 205 / 70 / 16 V the 17's on the EX : 225 / 60 / 17 ?

Do 16's look crap on it ?

Have you a link to the ad of the car you're looking at?

Personally, all things equal, I wouldn't pay anything more for 'eco dynamics' as I'd be doubtful you'd ever recoup the difference.

Now if it came with desirable extras, then it's up to you.

As for the wheel size, it does seem rather small but I'd want to see an image first. IIRC the Sportage has some nice alloys in all trim levels.

Check the annual tax rate on motortax.ie.
    I'd assume it's a co2 reducing gimmick

It seems ex has Eco dynamics and LX hasn't. But I suppose I don't really care for that anyways.

They'll improve ride comfort alot tbh even if they don't look big. Probably cheaper to replace come new tyre time also.

TBH I looked at these when they first came out and couldn't see much that you'd need on the higher spec models. I think eco models has slightly better spec and some aerodynamic aids that were hard to see and didn't do much really.

The spec looks fine on that.

Pretty much what I recall it to be but I'm not even sure it was all that successful.

    Pricey enough.

Here is a higher spec one for the same money:

Thanks. Yeah the LX has Bluetooth, cruise control, alloys,

And misses out over next spec up half leather seats , parking sensors and 17 inch tyres.

Make sure the seats have no premature wear or rips on them as they had alot of complaints/problems with the seats on them back then.

Was that on cloth seats only ?
Or the half cloth / half leather ?
    Or both ?

What's your opinion on this lowly LX spec bazz ; )

    Yeah. Seen that alright.

What do you think of the LX spec ?

There's not a lot of a difference apart from the leather/cloth seats and 17" alloys.

The LX is a well specced model, even if it's the base model

That "leather" looks as if it won't wear well over time

    Here's another one to consider
This is the EX model with glass roof

So? 68k miles is hardy big mileage on a 4 year old diesel car.

Does anybody know if the ISG / start stop thing can be permanently turned off via a simple switch or a menu etc

Thanks. Does the ex come with pan roof as standard or is it an extra ?

How you finding the car overall ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 104 ✭✭dubjay

i think it was 1000 extra if you buy new i don't know i only have the car 8 months i bought i second hand .the roof was a big thing for me as the light it lets in is incredible also to cool the cab.finding the car great especially economy wise. i owned a 07 prius and its much cheaper to run and own the sportage. the bluetooth on the radio is great for streaming songs and the usb reads my music fine and the built in phone kit also.it has reverse sensors and the eco part comes from the fact it tells you when to change gear and auto stop start and low friction tyres.

19 grand for a 4 yr old Kia. Put 4 k to it and get a new model demo 141 or 142 Qashqai.

mmmmmm, 19 grand for a 4 year old kia is at the back of my mind too........but it just seems to be the price of them, maybe something to do with the 7 year warranty.

Cud be a while finding a qashqai for that price.
