    Hi Guys,

    Looking fr an opinion.

Organising to play an open in April with a few freinds and these are the options for the day:
    1. Royal Tara
    2. Black Bush
    3. Royal Curragh
    4. Balbriggan
    5. Hollywood Lake
Which would ye recommend as the best.

    Never played any of them
    Thanks

Curragh, super course, a bit unusual and the oldest in the country!

Having been a member in two of those courses (BB/RT) and played a good bit in Balbriggan when I lived near there, I'd say it's a toss up between Tara and Balbriggan. Both are excellent and enjoyable layouts, more water in Balbriggan, more trees and tight, angular holes in Tara. Both about equal difficulty. Tara's greens were hollowthined/poleforked about three weeks ago so should be in good shape around mid-April. Only played a couple of times in HL and Curragh. Wasn't blown away by either.

April is hollow coring or other green maintenance time so check with each course before making your decision OP...

    Thanks guys.

Good call slave1 on the hollowcoring.

Friend wants to play curragh so will probably end up there as long as its not being hollow cored for end of april

Royal Tara or Black Bush (both have 27 holes)

If i was you I would get out early and by the time you finish 18 holes head out to play the other 9.

I would probably go Royal Tara; Reason been they had really good food the last time I was there.
