    quick question

i was working for a company today and they put me on a volvo rigid truck was laid up 3 weeks, i start the truck up i get 3 different warning lights and then when they go off it says check engine ecu,

had a look around the truck and the passenger side lift wheel was bald and had a large nail in it also the curtains on the passenger side had 5 of the 14 straps missing and quite a few rips on each curtain,

so mentioned it to the relevant people and they just got someone to wipe the faults off the truck and that the check ecu warning is common on these

was told that the bald wheel was on the lift wheels so it didn't matter and that the truck is due to be scrapped in the next few weeks

now when i drove it for a few mins i got the engine ecu warning, brake ecu warning and air ecu warning

am i right that i should have refused to drive this truck

The person who takes the vehicle outside the gate is responsible full stop,Just say you got stopped by the Gardai/RSA they could throw the book at you after all you are a professional driver due to you doing the CPC bolloxogy.
Now I would be lying if I said that I have never taking out a truck were the engine mgmt light comes on with something small like battery not fully charged or something,But anything like tyres lights ABS suzies etc I would not budge out side the gate.

As Donkeyballs said. Refuse 100% to drive the truck. With the CPC regulations and Vosa check points you'll be nailed to the wall .ie Points, fine.

And do you think the job will pay it? Absolutely not!
