Replace Vodafone Modem?

I'm looking into replacing the standard Vodafone modem with something a bit better. Looking for better wifi coverage and speeds in general and something that will be fine when we finally upgrade past our 24mb speeds we're limited to at the moment.

I'm a complete noob to this but would http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A122XG6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE be any good? I'm assuming I can connect an external harddrive to this and use it as storage for the network? Also if we were to change to UPC would this still work with them too? Think I've read stuff about modem/router combos not playing nice? Any help appreciated.

to answer @hots question, i dont see this being an issue... Just as long as you have the username and password details for your account... I set mine in to "bridge" mode (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=85803697) and use it with a PFSense router and different Wifi AP and it works grand... If you have an existing wifi AP, that might be a better option instead of buying something... up to you...

As for @Biff123, i dont know. Sky may have theirs locked down, since, well, they are sky... Also, if your Sky modem is ASDL and your Vodafone link is VDSL (fiber) i dont think it will work... Both need to be the same...

Sky hubs are locked down. You can extract the details to use your own kit with sky, but they cant be used with other ISPs. Go sky.

Vodafone use generic logins, any ADSL2+ gear will do.
