No reason given but is not for a lack of results nor for financial issues".

The results have been poor though.

I think that statement from the team is just an attempt to keep people on-side during a change of management.

    LOL
Stories of the Dane growing more and more distant from his riders, of his input becoming sporadic, have nonetheless been legion for several years. One is still repeatedly, gleefully retold by members of Saxo Bank’s 2010 Tour de Suisse team: of a rider dropping back to the team car for instructions midway through one key stage, only to find that Riis’s ears were plugged with headphones, and his eyes were glued to his laptop. Spooling across the screen were not live pictures of the race but scenes from the hit American drama, The West Wing.

Is this not just preempting the ban he's just about to get as a result of the Danish investigation?

This is about a clash with Tinkov.....Riis & Tinjiov clashed in the past when Oleg was just a sponsor....Seemingly Riis wouldn't obey orders to demote sports director De Jongh at T/A and Tinkov went ballistic..Tinkov had the hump because Contador couldn't follow Quintana on the climb and blamed the DS...Its definitely about power control as I doubt Tinkov would suspend " the best DS in the world" (his own words)- on a report from ADD especially before its even published.

Some previous riders Lund, & Kroon have basically said Tinkov is a nightmare and Mauduit who Tinkov got rid of in 2104 after 3 years at the team said much the same...Tinkov wants to win at any cost and expects only wins and wants Riis to ensure it as he pays him 1 million euros a year

Of course if the results were good then it probably wouldn't have happened YET

Some also saying they doubt Riis will come back....

Being reported now that Riis and Tinkoff-Saxo have mutually terminated the contracts, quite unsurprisingly. Very possibly means the end of Saxo's involvement, and some riders too.

Really? I presume it's not his choice to make, he has a contract to fulfill..

Week gets worse for Contador doesn't it. His great double chances are rightly screwed now

    ADD Denmark report published today

    http://t.co/SRt0xbXoJ5

    page 88 for English summary

    Mikkel Condé v2.0 ‏@mrconde
"Source says Riis probably knew about Discovery's blood-doping from Basso who was there in 2007. Remember who else was there in 2007? "

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,606 ✭✭✭MPFG

    But most worrying

    Mikkel Condé v2.0 ‏@mrconde
"A current rider tells ADD he expects some riders do small doses of blood-doping and then use altitude training to explain bio-pas variations"

I would have a list of favourites for who is probably doing this

To be fair, I think anyone with any interest in the sport will not take this as a shock.

At that point in pro cycling I had completely turned off cycling due to all the scandals and doping, I had lost interest completely. The sad thing was I was involved with CSC at the time and could have had boot loads of team merchandise, as well as trips to France for the tour.

I pride myself in not selling out my principles for a trip or two and a pile of shiny clothing and stuff.

I take some comfort from the fact that Sastre has never been implicated by anything to date.
