If 2 cars

join a main road from opposite 12 o' clock and 6 o' clock side-roads or indeed any cross, - who has right-of-way? I've asked about a dozen people already and nobody knows. I'm interested to see do many know or do ye just chance it and hit the floor, or do ye wait about half n hour to move out until there's no-one else at all on the roads, or do ye always let the opposite person go first simply because ya don't know. :D It never came up in Driving-Test it never came up in Driving-Lessons, there was nothing in Book about it. Oddly-enough and typically-enough, there was a page in the Book alright along with Diagrams about cars from side-roads joining main where'd they'd be turning out in opposite directions, back-to-back or shoulder-to-shoulder or something I think it's called, but shure that would be grand if 1 is turning out left and 1 turning out right like that's a no-brainer, but zilch about 2 opposite cars joining a main road heading in the same direction.

I checked the Road-Book from a couple of years ago too but could't find anything in there about it.

Car turning left has right of way over a car turning right in the scenario (I think) you describe.

So if you come out from the south road and want to turn east, they come from the north road and want to turn west you mean?

    crossing over the middle?

does it not work like a roundabout?

Could be wrong, but whoever's going left gets right of way, as they're not crossing lanes, and two cars going right, can do so at the same time?

Not sure from the wall of text in the OP but is this the thing where parts of EU have you cross an intersection behind each other as you both turn in the same (relative) direction - but countries like germany have you do it before?

The car with the front seat passenger who is giving a filthy death stare look at other driver even though they've never sat their fat arse onto a driver seat has the right of way.

    Yeah think that's it

Both cars are coming from opposite directions, and both cars want to join the same lane?

The car closest to the lane surely has right of way over the car coming from the opposite direction that has to cross over a lane to come into the lane behind the other car?

OP, I think we need a diagram.

Or a slightly clearer explanation of what you're asking.

The red car would have right of way.

The first car to reach the junction has to flash the other car to go first, then the second car has to flash and give a wave to the first that they should go, then the first car moves off and gives a big ten second wave (to make sure it is seen) and double indicators which the driver of the second car should be checking for in his mirror and give a single flick of his right indicator in acknowledgement,

Or to put it simpler, the car turning left.

The car that doesn't have to cross a lane has right of way.

Is the green car allowed to cross that continuous white line?

The roughest looking/biggest driver has the right of way. Or if it's females, the one with the flinty look and better make-up/hair. Also, new cars always get to go first. Even if it's a Dacia.

If They are the red car and the blue car from the Milky Way advertisement then they are racing so normal rules of the road don't apply.
