Dampness behind wardrobes

I removed old wardrobes and there's some dampness on the walls, not a huge amount but in certain parts of the wall.

Is there anything I should do before the new wardrobes go in on Thursday in terms of cleaning, paint etc?

Is there a cavity in the wall, is it insulated?
Is there a permanent open vent in the room?
    Is the heating on regularly?
What is the typical Relative humidity in the room?

Apart from cleaning of the mould, Your answers to the above will determine the best course of action

Your pics, although beautifully detailed, are of no real use to the OPs situation. Very difficult / almost impossible to ascertain.
